Lumbini Park and NTR Memorial, Hyderabad

My colleague had some official work somewhere within the city. I just accompanied (dragged may be smell realistic!!) him and traveling becomes happy journey if you get some good greenery!

I started liking circles of Hyderabad.....many are good, clean, neat....and filled with some green color!!!

We stopped at Lumbini Park while returning from the work. Later I realized that Lumbini Park, Snow world (yet to explore), Jalvihar (water world), Andhra Pradesh secreteriate building, NTR memorial and NTR garden are situated surrounding the big Lake. Birla Mandir is not far away. It is just within another half a kilometer from this place.

This is just inside Lumbini park...rather it is lake side....

Don't you think it is worth to come here with an entrance fee of just 5 rupees.....This circle is filled with water in the evenings....I went at around morning 10 o'clock...!!

Children’s play area is finely maintained and of course colors attracts those who have hidden childishness!

This area has for some sort of artificial beach creation.

Srinivas wanted a snap here even he maintained saying water must have been here!

He insisted me also to have one though! In the evening I assume this will be joyous to play in the flowing water!

Seating facility on the footpaths is awesome!

There is Budha statue (I believe so) at the centre of lake. You need to catch any one of these boats to go there. Its like Vivekanada rock memorial in Kanyakumari.. There we have sea and here we have big lake!

I could see here some deluxe boats with partying facility. One has to laud commendable effort of APTDC to promote tourism! Thoughts of lakes of Bangalore just crossed my mind. It can be big boost to tourism if those are promoted in similar way!

We could have gone in a boat but Srini had time constraint!

It’s sure that I will come back again. I have to ..Because we didn't visit the statue....well..we have to give separate fee for this boat facility...I remember this is something around rs.30

Speed boats are available with seats of 2 and 8. I even see board which mentioned about parasailing facility...I couldn’t find anybody sailing there....but it must be there!

I love this lush greenery! I don't want to compare this with Western Ghats or any other forest area.....within the city limits i feel it is worth to have at least this much green environment !!

Before i exit i must mention that it is comparatively well maintained lake with all basic amnesties for a tourist!

This is how entrance looks. Beside it laser show auditorium is available which costs 30 rupees. Show is for 30 minutes commencing from 7.30PM to 8PM everyday.

After Lumbini park we came out and crossed the road and few steps to reach NTR memorial. A simple but marvelous built. Keep your sandals/shoes outside in a Shoe stand (free service! I love that!!).

Wider view of this memorial is attractive.

Converging arcs makes it suitable for some good snaps.

If you are lucky enough with lighting and other destructions of photography one can have some value photography!

I have to prove myself that I was there in the place. So I took this photo!!

Again the place is very well maintained.

I think every morning officials decorate memorial with flowers. It was fresh!

Sometime sun light peeps out of cloudy weather and I tried to make full use of it!

Srini made himself sure that he is within the frames of several photos!

This is one of the tourist spots as part of their menu from travel houses.

Not all goes well......see the garbage on the lake side. This is just opposite to NTR memorial. Lake is very big and surrounding it several tourist attractions are situated prominently parks and water sports/entertainment.

This statue is part of the whole memorial is situated at entrance pillars of it.

I like it...its smooth...looks shining...good concept....no words to explain!

Face seems to be more natural…..even orkut tags it as human face!!

Probably sometime we give more preference to the person who inaugurated the memorial rather the person whom we have to remember!

Observe open doom of the memorial. Each pillar has one face in it.

Another magnificent view of it

There is NTR gardens beside NTR memorial which opens at 2.30PM. We couldn’t go inside it as time was just 12PM.....So we decided go back to our guest house after abandoning plan of visiting Golkonda fort as it is little far away by another 25km....I enquired local people, auto drivers. They suggested going to mehandipatnam by bus. Fort is 8km away from that place again. I was not convinced completely about the distance and travel facility to come back from there. So I dropped it for another day!

All these places are nearby Andhrapradesh secretarial building! This may be the secret behind beauty and cleanness of this place!

Explore India !!

Dreams under construction.........read on email exchanges between me and my friend prasanna....do you have anything to say about it.....put your comments.........

Murali,

Bigger the Aperture (small f number), more depth of field. Please confirm if this is correct J.

- Prasanna

--------------------------------------------------

its reverse..........
bigger the aperture...smaller depth of field...

so if u want more depth in subject keep aperture smaller...
eg:
photos of flower, butterfly with macro lens
birds, animals with telephoto lens...

but remember.... to compensate for low amount of light (due to smaller aperture) you have to keep the shutter speed less..... else you loose exposure......!!!

Now again observe the photo examples i have given.....
none of the those subjects are slow motion subjects....
if u want to capture them without blur u should have faster shutter speed.....!!!
faster shutter speed u loose depth.......
how to balance ..........?????

this is beauty and challenge of photography.....!

Solution tip:

Check what various ISO numbers do?????????

--------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Murali.

Checked your blogs mentioned in your signature. Left some comments.

Did you explore anything around Hyd?

Regards

Prasanna

-------------------------------------------------------

its very hot here....very difficult to go around.....
checked all those comments.....

Murali,

Should plan something soon . Life is becoming increasingly boring.

I have an urge to do something, but don’t know what. Let me know if you have any suggestions (except suicide !!).

Please share some ideas. We should be able to live ‘life’ our way for 10 15 weekends every year.

Prasanna

u can do one thing.......
lets start planning for Great India Exploration.....

But covering it in a single stretch is impossible.........
so we need to plan for shorter journeys........

Places covered should be more........
either it should have variety or single theme
like....temples, beaches, food culture, special forests, tiger sanctuaries.........etc....
collecting these info....planning for all these is big task......
but interesting....
i think slowly we can start doing this......

u can blog these plans....so no need to write it in separate papers...

my plan is to do it professionally.......make record of it in still photos and video...
like national geographic, discovery channel explorations
and need to find some sponsors.....

we can do it...planning is very important....
whatever we do it should have some target, aim....
should serve social cause......

wt u say?????????????/

---------------------------------------------------------------

Love you man!

You stole the words of my mouth.

Show me the starting point. Let’s do it one by one.

Anyways, We need approximately two more months for planning and other phases. By then our economic conditions will be slightly better (Hope so).

There will be multiple themes mainly concentrated on old temples (not the new ones with a lot of crowds and dirty surroundings), reserve forests, beaches and trekking spots.

Anyways we already have some temples and trekking spots in the blog. For the time being (read: next one year) let’s stick to these type of places in south India. We will complete the surroundings like remaining Hoysala temples, Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, Srirangam temple, Tanjore and what not….!!!!!!

Whenever we do something, we will read related short write-ups and try to understand a bit of history. All the photographs going on to the public sites (blogs / photo albums) will be watermarked from now onwards.

Not sure about finding sponsors, but let’s not wait for them and continue our task. Will try to depend on public transport to the maximum extent and document all the routes and other details.

Let’s not add any unknown person now. We will go in our own ‘ishtyle’ and when we gain the momentum, we can think further.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Show me the starting point. Let’s do it one by one.

  • starting point is to relax.....and just think what to do...how to do.....what extent we can do????? last question is probably more important...like any normal tourist we can travel all around India; tell stories to all whoever we meet.....is it enough???? Can't we do more than that?

Anyways, We need approximately two more months for planning and other phases. By then our economic conditions will be slightly better (Hope so).

--To find answer to the last query (what extent we can do?) we may need more time...its ok...lets take more time.....

--National economics can be good....I don't know about mine !!

There will be multiple themes mainly concentrated on old temples (not the new ones with a lot of crowds and dirty surroundings), reserve forests, beaches and trekking spots.

---Probably answer to these questions-- what to do...how to do.....what extent we can do?????--can kill all dilemmas !

--It should not become just a tourist visit..it should become an 'event'....it should recognized as an 'happening'.......it should be documented...it should be photographed...it should be recorded....it should be saved, served and spread !

Whenever we do something, we will read related short write-ups and try to understand a bit of history. All the photographs going on to the public sites (blogs / photo albums) will be watermarked from now onwards.

--Yes, we need to publicize ourselves ...not because we need public attention...just to get sponsorship ! It is long term goal ..

Not sure about finding sponsors, but let’s not wait for them and continue our task. Will try to depend on public transport to the maximum extent and document all the routes and other details.

--We should be economically viable and profitable to sponsors then we can get sponsors.... We must intelligently think and plan ourselves to be profitable to others...... then i bet...we will get sponsorship !

--This process involves some business tactics we are not good at......hobbies and money support is like race story of rabbit and tortoise....if it is alone it can't pull the trigger !

Let’s not add any unknown person now. We will go in our own ‘ishtyle’ and when we gain the momentum, we can think further.

--just we need to define and execute "ishtyle"...

(Already dreaming of – Explore India)

--dreams are good....sometime reality may bite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes Sir! Relaxing is in our blood J. Thinking is again one of our core area. But doing……. There are some hurdles which we will overcome for sure. We don’t want to tell stories to people, but we should be feeling good about ourselves that we have done at least one thing which we wanted to do J.

Ok. We will plan perfectly. But while the planning phase is in progress, we can take some trail trips to see our progress. There are a lot of exotic places around.

I was referring to my economics, not the national one. Now I am in such a pathetic stage that I can only plan ;).

it should be documented...it should be photographed...it should be recorded....it should be saved, served and spread – These things will be done anyways. But the way of doing things will improve only after we take some attempts towards doing that. Let’s start something and then move towards making the things better.

--dreams are good....sometime reality may bite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are the ones which force you towards reality. Let’s take a plunge into it and see how things go on.

-------------------------------------------------------------

There are many people who have done t already….here is example…… but we can’t wait till we reach 50s…..

money matters !

All over in my life i never felt that i had less money.Whatever i wanted to i did; i bought whatever i wanted to buy.i have a big playground nearby my home. I used to play like a jungle elephant. Nobody in this world was worried about me. I remember a day i came late from school at around 7PM. My mother worried and my elder cousins started searching and combing operation for me. I was playing all along with some of my friends in that big playground. When i came house everybodie's face was grim. I realized something was wrong. I hid hehind the tables! But nobody scolded me !!

In my childhood i used to read plenty of books. I was purchasing most of the kannada weekly magazines, monthly magazines. I bought several literature books, novels, yearly special publications. I used to enjoy reading of all these books. I was getting money to buy all these books. Nobody complained me that i was wasting money. Nobody scolded me that i was spoiling my study.

Later when i joined college i had several things to do.I had a gang of friends. We used to arrange trekking and some tours. Some people come and most of the people miss the trip. Money was constraint for several memebrs. But we never cancelled or ostphoned the journeys. We used to arrange the expenditures to suit everybodie's pocket size. We adjusted ourselves to the available money.

Hotel ganesh parasad in puttur was our pemanent place on weekend to enjoy north indian dishes. Our policy was simple: whatever you eat pay for it! Most of the saturday lunches were dedicated to that hotel!!

Meanwhile i developed interest in photography. I attended photography classes conducted by mr.Ishwaraiya (if you can remember "sarasa" in "tushara" and "taranga") under "IMAGE" amateur photography club. When i put i proposal for new camera, the next day i had money in my hand. After 15 days i got my dream camera costing Rs.10000/- nealy 8 years back. Still that Olympus OM2000 SLR camera is running like a old horse.. I took hundreds of waste photos with that camera. But nobody shouted at me that why i am hanging around that camera to waste money?

Later i joined post graduation course. All hobbies continued along with core technical study. I wasted hundreds of photos, i went to several more places. i made new friends. Spent money everything within my limitations. I never felt money was hurdle for any of my activities.
I joined once again for higher education after 3 years of stint in 2 companies. Bank helped me in getting a specialized degree in specialized subjest. Again nobody asked why i am spending money for higher education.

The house i stay in native place is nearly 50 years old. But it is big enough for us. It is really cool even in the hottest summer. Many families have stayed there and have gone. Finally we are staying there. I have played, laughed, ate, had good sleep in that house. I won't say i have a great emotional bond with that house. But i never felt that house is old.

But now i am in a junction of life wherein people ask several question. I am in search of answers to querries.

People ask me why i haven't built a new house? Why haven't i repaired the house with tiled floors? Why??? I know that i can earn the money to make new house after some years. I even know that house can run for another 10 yeras with minor modifications. It has sustained several years of rain and storm. It can stay strong. but people ask me why haven't made the house new? Why havn't you built new house? Why????Why??????

I have lakks in my account. But it won't be sufficient to build a new house. All of sudden i am feeling poor!!!

When i joined job i started earning. I thought i can have some improvements now. I bought a desktop computer system with all requirements to make it a personal computer. I started writting articles for my blogs. Installed sevel softwares to play around it day and night. Enjoyed all kind of music and entertainement. The same system is still working fine. I have upgraded whole system to 180GB had disk as well. Life is beautiful for me. But people ask me now why i still didn't buy laptop??? Why i didn't buy persnal nusic player "IPOD"??? Why?????

I want to travel all around india. I want to reach heights of all western ghat hills and himalayan valleys. But i feel the money i spend on those can fulfill my one or two months expenses. Hence i cancel the trips. People keep asking where have been recently? I keep mum. I feel poor.

Once i joined job after my specialized mastres degree i was happy. A dream achieved. Sometime later i thought i can afford more. I bought a CTV for some more live entertainment. I enjoyed several hollywood films in HBO, star movies, live cricket matches along with my cousin brothers. Later i thought i can save vegetables and food items for some more times. I genuilnly thought i should not waste food. There are hundreds of people who are hungry in the world. So i bought freezer. I enjoy chilled water, iced fruit juices, ice creams. But people now ask me why i didn't buy LCD TV? People ask me why i didn't buy a larger freezer? People ask me why i didn't buy microwave owen?

I used to walk miles to reach school and travel in buses to reach college. Never felt tired for those journeys. Even today i walk. I know walking is good for health. But people ask why you didn't buy a car yet? I learned driving long back in college days itself dreaming to have a own car. Age old wisdom has taught me that "don't spread your legs beyond bed". But people ask me why i haven't bought it yet? I am feeling poor.

People now ask me why you don't have road to your door steps? People ask me how many times have you travelled overseas? People ask me how many lakhs of salary you have? People ask me how much money you have (rather "he has") in his bank account? People ask me how many branches your company has?

People never ask do you drink? People never ask do you smoke? People never ask about broken relationships?People never ask how did you achieve such good educational level and knowledge?People never ask what are your dreams? People never ask how you keep happy yourself? People never ask how you have good relationship? People never ask how you to make your loved ones happy? People never ask how much you are responsible for your life? People never ask how much you are good or bad?????

It is not that i can't buy a car and can't built a house. Do i really need it???

I need to do a lot to show people that i am a satisfied young settled person.

I must buy a digital camera even if can't give good quality SLR photos. I must buy a microwave owen even if it doesn't give naturally cooked food! I must build a house even i may not stay there! I must buy a car even if you know walking is good for health! and many more.........

I always believe good education and character can always yield good wealth. My earnings and savings will yield lakhs in near future. I know i will go around the world. I know i will buy a car. I know i will build a new house. I know all roads will lead to my home. I know what are my dreams. I know what i will achieve in my life. I know what i am!!

But at present i feel i am poor!
